Thank you for joining us at Back to School Night! Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions or need support during the school year. To help us prepare for the school year ahead, please take a few minutes to complete our Back to School Climate Survey. The survey is available via the link above, below and via a QR on posters around the Jensen Ranch campus.

CVUSD and Jensen Ranch use the ParentSquare app for email and text communication. If there is an emergency, this is the platform that will be used to communicate with you.You can select your language and preferences through the app once you download it. If you have children attending multiple schools, you will receive all school based and district messaging through ParentSquare. Please click the link below to learn more about ParentSquare and why downloading the app is a great way to stay connected to our school community.

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held in mid-September, allowing time for you and your child's teacher to review their initial assessment results, progress in class, and to share any concerns, needs, and successes! If you require an interpreter, please notify your teacher as soon as possible to give us the greatest opportunity to secure an in-person interpreter for the scheduled conference time.

Final Kindergarten class placements will be made on Monday, August 17th. If your child will be making a final class change, you will be notified on Monday afternoon.

If you have a need or questions, please email your child's teacher, and they will get back to you typically within 24-48 hours during school days.

Every Friday, TK students will get out at 11:30 a.m., and students in K-5 will get out of school at Noon. Lunches are available, and supervision will be in place for 20 minutes after the end of the school day.

If your child is arriving late to school, please stop at the office to get a late slip before proceeding to the classroom. If your child has been at a medical/dental appointment before arriving at school, please bring in an appointment slip to clear the tardy.

When possible, please schedule medical and dental appointments outside of your child's school day. We are fortunate to have early release every Friday afternoon at noon. This is a perfect time for your child's appointments so they are not missing instruction.

To start off the school year, your student will be learning about expected behavior in different areas around our school.  Each day, we will learn about the behavior we would like to see in each area at school.  Your role is to help your student understand the behaviors we expect from them, have you understand the behavior we expect from them, know the signals, and then complete that day's page.  Both student and guardian need to sign off each day’s focus on the home-to-school connection page after it has been discussed and completed. After all the pages are completed, return the completed packet to your classroom teacher on Monday, August 24, 2026.

California Assembly Bill 1432 requires annual mandated reporter training. The course covers recognizing child abuse and neglect, mandated reporter responsibilities and reporting procedures, and the consequences for failing to make a required report. Keenan SafeSchools provides the annual regulatory and compliance training required for CVUSD volunteers.

1. Go to the CVUSD Keenan SafeSchools registration page:

2. Create a username using your first initial and last name or your first name.last name

For example: Brad Pitt would be bpitt or brad.pitt.

3. Enter your first name, last name, and email address.

4. Select Jensen Ranch Elementary as your site location if prompted.

5. Click Register—the green button.

6. Open the assigned Mandated Reporter Training and accept the disclaimer to begin.

Your SafeSchools page will show the training assigned for the current school year. Complete every module in its entirety and pass the quiz at the end to receive credit. The course running time is approximately 67 minutes. Closed captions are available by hovering over the lower-right corner of the training slide and selecting the CC icon.

Need to pause? SafeSchools will save your progress so you can log back in later and resume where you stopped.

After completing the training, save your Certificate of Completion (select “Print,” then “Save as PDF”). You may bring in a copy of the Certificate of Completion to the Jensen Ranch office, or you may email a copy to: Rebecca Long: rlong@cv.k12.ca.us

Complete and print the Megan’s Law form and Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement, then submit them to the school office. You may attach a printed copy of your Keenan certificate. If you’ve already submitted your Megan’s Law form for the 26-27 school year at registration, you do not need to submit a new one to the office.

You cannot drop your child off at the drop off area. 

Do not park on campus to drop your child off. You are encouraged to walk from home or park a block or two away and walk on to campus.
