Castro Valley, CA – (March 27, 2019) – Every year the Castro Valley Unified School District employees nominate six classified employees as Classified Employees of the Year.
The Classified School Employee of the Year Program sponsored by the California Department of Education highlights the contributions of classified school employees who support the education of California’s public school students. The program’s goals are to identify five exemplary classified school employees throughout California for recognition. The five categories include: Child Nutrition; Maintenance, Operations and Facilities; Office and Technical; Para-Educator and Instructional Assistance; Support Services and Security; and Transportation.
“Our classified employees are the backbone of our district’s support system. We sincerely thank our classified employees for their commitment to supporting students every day and congratulate the classified employees selected as our Classified Employees of the Year,” noted Superintendent Ahmadi.
This year's nominees are:
Raquel Gonzalez - Child Nutrition
Frank Holyoake – Maintenance, Operations, & Facilities
Paula DelaRiva - Office & Technical
Laura Keyser - Para-Educator
Lauretta Mazur – Support Services & Security
Susan Barajas – Transportation
The Board of Education will be recognizing Classified Employee of the Year Nominees at its board meeting on May 22nd.
